Art Basel 2026

Since the beginnings of modernism, abstraction and the transformation of figuration have shaped the development of twentieth-century art. Artists continually expanded the possibilities of form, material and space, developing new visual languages that moved between representation and abstraction.

For this years Art Basel in Basel, Galerie Haas Berlin/Zurich presents a curated selection of paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by Hans Arp, Abraham David Christian, Jean Dubuffet, Jean Fautrier, Günter Haese, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso, Arnulf Rainer, Markus Raetz, Eva Aeppli, Nicolas de Staël, André Thomkins, Konrad Klapheck, Peter Brüning, Ernst Wilhelm Nay and Ursula (Schultze-Bluhm). Spanning works from the early twentieth century through the postwar period, the presentation highlights the continuity and diversity of modern artistic practice across generations and media.
