André Thomkins (*1930 in Lucerne – 1985 in Berlin) was one of the most innovative and versatile artists of the second half of the 20th century. While the wider public might be mainly familiar with his Lackskins, the exhibition focuses on his drawings and paintings. Works from the 1940s, 50s, 60s and early 70s are on view at the gallery, wonderfully demonstrating Thomkins’ wide-ranging iconographic repertoire and his affinity with current artistic tendencies.
