Beate Günther. Der tote Torero

Beate Günther works on her paintings with deep concentration – most often in the silence of the night. This intense focus imbues her oil paintings with a contemplative quiet that is at the same time tranquil and alive with movement. Layer by layer, using oil paints she mixes herself, she builds relief-like surfaces that reveal subtle motions or entire structural landscapes. For those who let themselves be drawn into this silence and focus can feel it: the power that radiates from within the paintings.
