Archaic pleasures

In Nicole Bianchet’s emotional landscapes, beauty comes into conflict. Nature seems familiar and yet strange. Longing, vulnerability and the fantastic seep through the motifs, but there is a flaw in the matrix. The magical is also disturbing.
This is due in no small part to the way in which the images are created. The drawing is roughly scratched into the wood with a cutter; the colour is applied fluidly or in splashes of paint. But the concrete elements are transformed into a narrative, carried by romantic ideals and dark surreal elements. Nicole Bianchet (*1975) is a painter, performer and musician.
Her works are created as a process and are usually accompanied by music. A performance will be part of the exhibition.
